Fruit Dumplings

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Make a crust similar to apple dumplings.

  2. Roll out the dough to ¼ inch thick and cut into oblong pieces with rounded corners.

  3. Place 1 tablespoon of tart preserve in the center of each piece.

  4. Roll the dough around the preserve to form a dumpling.

  5. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 40 minutes.

  6. Brush the dumplings with beaten egg while hot and return to the oven to glaze.

  7. Serve hot with pudding sauce.
