Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Ripe peaches
Provide the main fruit flavour and body of the ice cream.
Powdered white sugar
Sweetens the cream and softens the texture of the frozen ice cream.
Rich cream
Adds fat that makes the ice cream smooth and rich.
Rich milk
Adds dairy liquid and milk solids that give the base body.
Gelatin (in the method)
Helps the mixture set and holds it together for a smoother texture.

The step that matters

Beat the mixture whenever the freezer is opened. Stirring during freezing breaks up ice crystals as they form, keeping the ice cream smooth instead of icy and grainy.
