To Strain Honey

  1. Melt the honeycomb in a tin cup placed in an open oven.

  2. Strain the melted honey through a piece of coarse muslin to remove any bits of bee bread.

  3. Once the honey is cold, remove the cake of wax from the top and wash it in cold water.

  4. Melt the wax again and mold it in a thimble or egg-cup for later use.
