Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Milk
Forms the liquid base and gives the drink its body and creaminess.
Oat meal flour
Starch thickens the milk as it cooks, giving the drink a light body.
Powdered sugar
Adds sweetness, dissolved in the warm drink to taste.

The step that matters

Stirring the flour into boiling milk. Flour added to hot liquid can clump; diluting it in cold milk first helps it disperse evenly so the starch thickens smoothly as it cooks.

Swap the mace

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (milk, flour, cinnamon, lemon, coriander, sugar):

  1. Cardamomfits better
