Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Gelatin
Sets the liquid into a firm, sliceable pudding as it cools.
Whipped cream
Adds richness and a light, airy texture to the set pudding.
Pineapple
Provides the main fruit flavour and moisture in the pudding.
Sugar
Sweetens the pudding and balances the pineapple's acidity.

The step that matters

Stirring in the whipped cream as the mixture stiffens. If the gelatin has set too firm, the cream will not blend in evenly and will leave lumps; if it is still too liquid, the cream will deflate and the pudding will be thin and airy rather than uniform. Beating thoroughly at the right moment keeps the texture even.
