Preserved Fruit Tarts

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Grease an oval dish or tart tin with butter.

  3. Line the dish with puff paste.

  4. Fill the lined dish with any type of preserved fruit.

  5. Roll out a piece of puff paste until thin.

  6. Cut the rolled paste into narrow strips using a paste-cutter.

  7. Brush the rim of the dish with water.

  8. Lay the strips of paste across the top of the tart.
