Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Beaten egg white
Whips light air into the frozen mixture, giving it a fluffy, lighter texture.
Sugar
Sweetens the punch and keeps it from freezing rock-hard, softening the texture.
Whipped cream
Adds richness and a creamy, smooth mouthfeel to the frozen punch.

The step that matters

Folding in the egg white before the mixture is fully frozen. If the mixture is already fully frozen, the egg white cannot be evenly incorporated and the punch loses its light, airy texture. Folding while it is partly frozen lets the egg white trap air and blend in smoothly.

Swap the orange

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (tea, lemon, sugar, egg, cream):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Orangethe original
  3. Raspberryfits about as well
  4. Peachfits less well

Fit is the average pairing score against tea, lemon, sugar, egg, cream. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
