Why it works: Tomato and cucumber are a kitchen classic. They rank in the top 4% of all ingredient pairs, and cooks put them together in 2,405 recipes. Both carry 2-isopropyl-3-methoxypyrazine, which smells earthy, pea. The science ↓

Breaded Lamb Fillets

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare the lamb fillets as you would for sautéed fillets.

  2. Dip each fillet in bread crumbs, then in beaten eggs, and again in bread crumbs.

  3. Fry the fillets in deep oil until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.

  4. For variety, shape the fillets like chops and insert a 1.5-inch piece of macaroni in each to represent bones.

  5. Serve with Tomato Sauce or Fried Cucumbers.
