Dumplings and Puddings

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 300°F (150°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Grease a brown earthen pan with butter.

  2. Pour the pudding mixture into the pan and let it stand until it thickens.

  3. Before baking, pour 1 pint of cold milk over the pudding without stirring.

  4. Bake in a 300°F (150°C) oven for three hours.

  5. Serve warm with hard sauce.
