Ingredients

Directions

  1. Dip the oysters in the beaten egg, then coat with cracker or bread crumbs.

  2. Cook the oysters on a fine wire gridiron over a high heat.

  3. Prepare the toast in advance and pour a rich cream sauce over it.

  4. After adding the sauce, sprinkle finely cut celery on top.

  5. Alternatively, wash the oysters in the shell and place them on hot coals or a hot stove until cooked.

  6. Open the shells with an oyster knife, keeping the liquor.

  7. Quickly dip the toast in hot salted water, then place the oyster and liquor on top.

  8. Season with salt, pepper, and add 1 teaspoon of melted butter over each.
