Egg Custard

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat the milk in a saucepan until it begins to boil.

  2. Mix the flour with a little cold milk until it has a cream-like consistency, then stir it into the boiling milk.

  3. Boil the mixture for a few more minutes, then remove it from the heat and stir in the butter and sugar.

  4. Whisk the eggs until light and fluffy, then stir them into the cooled milk mixture along with the rose-water or orange peel.

  5. Line your baking plates with pastry and fill them with the custard mixture.

  6. Grate a little nutmeg or cinnamon on top before placing them in the oven.
