Cracker Hash

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

Prepare the filling

  1. Cook the chopped beef in a little water for 15 minutes, seasoning with onion, salt, and pepper.

  2. Stir the cooked beef mixture into the rolled crackers.

  3. If the mixture is too dry, add a little more water.

Bake and serve

  1. Pour the mixture into a pudding dish.

  2. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.

  3. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

  4. Serve in the same dish.
