Canning Fruits
Ingredients
Directions
Cook fruit gently in syrup until soft, without piercing it or overcooking.
Ensure jars, covers, and rubbers are washed and sterilized.
Pour boiling hot fruit into jars and seal immediately.
Place whole fruit compactly in jars without destroying shape.
Pour syrup into jars until overflowing.
Lay on covers without screwing them down.
Place jars on a trivet in a kettle of hot water or surround with steam.
Cook for 15 minutes.
After removing from the stove, add more syrup if needed to overflowing.
Screw covers down tight, wipe off, and label.
Store jars once cooled.
