Ingredients
Directions
Wash and sterilize the jar in boiling water.
Fill the jar half full with boiling apple juice.
If using apples, slice 6 ripe apples and boil in 4 quarts of water until soft.
Add 4 tablespoons of molasses or 2 tablespoons of sugar to the boiled apples and strain 1 quart of the boiling juice into the jar.
Cover the jar with sterilized cloth to keep out germs.
When the liquid cools to 75°F, shake the vinegar yeast bottle and pour it into the jar.
Keep the jar at a temperature of 70°F to 80°F.
When foaming is very active, pour the contents into a barrel of sweet juice.
Cover the bunghole with a thin cloth to keep out dust while allowing air.
