How to Broil Fish

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare the fish by thoroughly drying and seasoning the insides with coarse sea salt.

  2. Lightly dust the fish with flour to prevent sticking.

  3. Place the fish on a grill or broiler and cook until done.

  4. Serve the fish with the insides facing up, drizzled with melted butter.

  5. For Herring, broil the roes separately to prevent them from falling through the grill.

  6. Optionally, serve with mustard mixed into the melted butter.

  7. For Pilchards, serve with lemon halves and optionally with raw onion pieces.
