Arrowroot

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Take some arrowroot powder and place it in a bowl.

  2. Add a little nitric acid diluted with twice its volume of water.

  3. Mix well for five minutes with a pestle or smooth piece of wood.

  4. Observe the mixture: if it forms a transparent thick paste, it contains potato-starch; if it remains opaque and takes longer to thicken, it is pure.
