Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Ground rice
Thickens the milk into a firm paste that sets when cooled, so it can be cut.
Egg
Binds the bread crumb coating so it adheres and crisps during frying.
Sugar
Adds sweetness and helps the fritters brown when fried.
Milk
Cooks with the ground rice to form the thick, sliceable base.

The step that matters

Stirring the rice mixture constantly until thick. Ground rice can scorch and form lumps if left unattended on heat, and it must thicken fully so the cooled mixture holds its shape when cut into fritters.
