Roly-poly

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Remove fiber and skin from the suet and chop it finely.

  2. In a bowl, mix the chopped suet with salt and flour.

  3. Gradually add cold water until the mixture sticks together.

  4. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1 inch on a well-floured surface.

  5. Spread jam thickly over the rolled-out dough.

  6. Roll the dough up tightly and tie it in a well-floured cloth, leaving room for it to swell.

  7. Place the wrapped roll in a pot of boiling water and boil for 2 hours, or steam for 2.5 hours.

  8. Serve hot with sauce.
