Shells, Mosses, Pine-cones, Etc
Ingredients
Directions
Mix equal parts of gelatine, white lead, and plaster-of-Paris with enough water to make a putty-like consistency.
Apply a smooth, even layer of the mixture on the item to be decorated.
Stick the shells into the mixture in your desired pattern.
Add dry color to tint the mixture if desired.
Fill in any vacant spaces with the smallest shells.
If shells are not clean, boil them and brush them with a small brush.
To remove strong odors, wash shells in a solution of 1 tablespoon of chloride of lime to 1 quart of water.
