Household Bread

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a clean pan, make a hole in the middle of the flour.

  2. In another pan, mix the yeast, warm water, and salt, then strain it through a sieve.

  3. Mix a little flour with the yeast mixture to achieve a batter-like consistency.

  4. Pour the yeast mixture into the hole in the flour, sprinkle some dry flour on top, and cover with a cloth.

  5. Set in a warm place to rise until the top cracks.

  6. Once risen, mix in enough warm water to form a dough that is neither too stiff nor too slack.

  7. Knead the dough thoroughly until it feels tough and springy, then shape it into a lump.

  8. Leave the dough in the pan with a little flour on top to rise for about 30 minutes.
