Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Sugar
Dissolved in water to sweeten the base and lower its freezing point for a softer texture.
Egg whites
Whipped to stiff peaks, they add airy lightness and help the ice stay tender.
Peaches
Provide the main fruit flavor and moisture, releasing juice as the ice freezes.

The step that matters

Freezing until it begins to set before adding peaches. If the base is still liquid when the peaches go in, they sink and settle unevenly. Partial freezing creates ice crystals that suspend the fruit evenly and keep the texture smooth.

Swap the peach

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (sugar, egg):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Raisinfits better
  3. Lemonfits better
  4. Peachthe original

Fit is the average pairing score against sugar, egg. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
