Stollen or Coffee Cake

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Combine currants, raisins, citron, and cinnamon cake dough until well mixed.

  2. Let the dough rise once, then scale and shape it like Vienna bread.

  3. Roll the dough lengthwise down the center with a large rolling pin.

  4. Grease the outer edge as you would for milk rolls, then fold it over.

  5. Roll it down a little more, then place on baking pans.

  6. Wash the top with beaten eggs and sprinkle chopped almonds on top.

  7. Bake when three-quarters proved, then ice while hot.
