Fish Chowder

Ingredients

• 1 pound cod, haddock, or any white fish
• 6 medium-sized potatoes, cut into small pieces
• 1 onion, sliced
• 1 to 2 slices salt pork, cut into small pieces
• 2 teaspoons salt
• 2 cups milk
• 4 cups water

Directions

1. Wash and cut the fish from the bones.

2. Put 4 cups of cold water over the bones and cook for 20 minutes.

3. Strain out the bones and add the pork, potatoes, and onion to the water; cook for 15 minutes.

4. Add the fish, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.

5. Then add the milk, salt, and crackers, and cook for 5 minutes.

6. Serve hot.
