French Bread or Rolls

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Warm the milk and mix it with the yeast and enough fine flour to create a thick batter.

  2. Cover the batter and place it near a warm area to rise until it has doubled in size.

  3. Once risen, add the warm water, salt, and rub the butter with a little dry flour before mixing it into the dough.

  4. Knead the dough until it is not quite as stiff as regular bread dough.

  5. Let the dough stand for 45 minutes to rise before shaping it into rolls or loaves.
