Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Beat the butter until creamy.

  3. Add the sugar and stir together for a long time.

  4. Mix in the allspice and cinnamon.

  5. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs well.

  6. Gradually add the eggs to the butter and sugar mixture.

  7. Fold in the flour, candied fruits, and almonds until well combined.

  8. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.

  9. Bake for about 1 hour or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
