Fricasseed Fish

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the milk with peppercorns, mace, and optional mushrooms or ham.

  2. For a brown sauce, add mushroom ketchup or lightly fried flap mushrooms.

  3. Thicken the sauce with corn flour until it's not too thick.

  4. Add the cooked fish to the sauce and heat thoroughly without breaking it apart.

  5. On a hot dish, create a wall of boiled rice or smooth mashed potatoes.

  6. Place the fricassee in the center and serve hot, garnished with stewed mushrooms if available.
