Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Garlic
Adds sharp aroma and pungent flavor that deepens as the blend sits.
Basil
Contributes fresh, sweet herbal aroma to the dipping mixture.
Parsley
Adds fresh, grassy flavor and bright green color.
Olive oil
Carries the herb and spice flavors and coats the bread with fat.

The step that matters

Chop briefly in the food processor. Over-processing can bruise herbs and turn them bitter or mushy, while uneven pieces give an uneven flavor. Short pulses keep the herbs fresh and evenly distributed.
