What each ingredient does

Red bell peppers
Form the edible shell that holds the filling and softens as it bakes.
Instant polenta
Thickens the filling and sets into a firm, creamy base.
Parmesan cheese
Adds savory flavor and helps the filling brown on top.
Onion
Builds savory depth as it softens in the oil.
Zucchini
Adds moisture and tender body to the filling.

The step that matters

Bake until peppers are tender and polenta is golden. Peppers need enough time to soften fully, but the filling can dry out or scorch if baked too long. Checking for tender peppers and a golden top helps balance both.
