Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Chicken tenders
Provide the main protein, browning slightly first for savory flavor in the pot.
Uncooked rice
Absorbs liquid as it cooks, thickening the mixture and forming the crustless pie's body.
Condensed creamy chicken mushroom soup
Adds creaminess, savory flavor and binding so the filling holds together.
Frozen mixed vegetables
Add texture, color and sweetness while releasing moisture into the filling.

The step that matters

Stirring the rice during simmering. Uncooked rice settles to the bottom and can scorch or cook unevenly, so stirring a few times during the 30 to 35 minute simmer distributes it and keeps the filling uniform.
