Ingredients

  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed and cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 1 can (16 oz.) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • ¼ chopped onion
  • 2 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh basil
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 large garlic clove, crushed
  • 1&1/2 tsp olive oil or salad oil

Directions

Steam the green beans until they are “tender-crisp” (about 5 minutes).

Place beans chickpeas, and onion in a large bowl.

In a small bowl, combine all the dressing ingredients.

Add the dressing to the bean mixture, tossing the ingredients well.
