  2. Combine milk, oil & egg in a separate bowl; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.

  3. Stir in the cheeses.

  4. Spread into a greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan and bake in a preheated 400°F for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Prepare the topping

  1. Cook beef in a large skillet, over medium heat until no longer pink, about 10 minutes; drain off fat.

  2. Stir in water & 1 envelope of taco seasoning.

  3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat & simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.

  4. Set aside.

  5. Combine sour cream & 2nd envelope of taco seasoning in a small bowl; mix well.

  6. Combine the corn, beans & salsa in a small bowl.

Assemble and broil

  1. Spread sour cream mixture over crust.

  2. Sprinkle beef mixture over top, followed by half of the cheese mixture.

  3. Spoon corn, bean and salsa mixture over pizza top, followed by the other half of the cheese mixture.

  4. Broil 5-6 inches from the heat for 5-10 minutes or until the cheeses are melted. Watch carefully.

What each ingredient does

Eggs
Bind the crust and add structure as it sets in the oven.
Cornmeal
Adds a gritty, sturdy texture and a toasty corn flavor to the crust.
Baking powder
Releases gas that lifts the crust so it bakes up light rather than dense.
Ground beef
Provides the savory, meaty base of the topping.
Sour cream
Adds cool moisture and tang that softens the crust layer beneath the toppings.
Cheddar cheese
Melts into a stretchy, rich layer and adds savory flavor.

The step that matters

Broil the assembled pizza. Broiling is fast and intense, so cheese can burn while the center stays cool. Watching closely lets the cheese melt and brown evenly without scorching.
