Ingredients
- 1 large head of Red Cabbage Shredded
- 2 Large Onion Chopped
- 4 apples – peeled, cored and cubed
- ½ package bacon chopped
- ½ tsp. Ground Nutmeg
- 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
- 1 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Ground Black Pepper

In a small pot or microwave container combine liquids and heat. Stir in brown sugar until dissolved.

In a heavy pot (not aluminum) Fry out bacon add onions to sauté. Add cabbage and toss and toss with seasonings. Add liquids and simmer covered until cabbage is tender and ready to serve (at least an hour).

About ten minutes before serving, toss in apple cubes and allow to simmer. Remove from heat and serve.
