Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Mozzarella cheese
Melts and browns on top, binding the toppings and giving the pizza its stretchy texture.
Marinara sauce
Adds moisture and tomato acidity that flavours the bread and keeps the toppings from drying out.
Red bell peppers
Add sweetness and moisture that softens slightly as the pizza bakes.
Sun-dried tomato
Concentrates tomato flavour and adds chewy, savoury richness.

The step that matters

Flip the bread before topping. Baking the bread first on the side that will be underneath crisps it and helps keep it from getting soggy under the sauce and toppings.

Swap the oregano
