Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Ground turkey
Forms the meatballs' main body and provides the protein structure that holds them together.
Egg
Binds the meat mixture so the meatballs hold their shape while browning and simmering.
Cream of mushroom soup
Adds body and a savory, creamy thickness to the broth.
Carrots
Soften during simmering and add sweetness and body to the soup.
Beef bouillon cube
Dissolves in the water to give the broth its savory, beefy flavor.

The step that matters

Browning the meatballs. Browning them in oil before simmering develops flavor through the Maillard reaction. Crowding the skillet steams the meat instead, leaving it pale and less flavorful.

Swap the garlic
