Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Frozen fish fillets
Provide the protein that cooks through and flakes when done.
Soy sauce
Adds salty, savory flavour and helps brown the surface under the broiler.
Vegetable oil
Carries the flavours of the marinade and keeps the fish from drying out.
Garlic
Adds pungent aroma that mellows during the marinade and broil.

The step that matters

Broil until the fish flakes. Fish cooks quickly, and once the flesh turns opaque and separates easily with a fork it is done. Overcooking dries out the fillets and makes them tough.
