Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Sweetened condensed milk
Adds sweetness, body and creaminess, giving the pops a smooth, fudgy texture.
Sugar
Adds sweetness and lowers the freezing point, keeping the pops softer and less icy.
Chocolate pudding mix
Provides the chocolate flavour and thickens the base when it is boiled.

The step that matters

Stir mixture until smooth but not melted. Partly frozen edges must be stirred back into the liquid center so the mixture freezes evenly. Stirring too little leaves ice crystals that make the pops grainy, while over-stirring or letting it melt again ruins the smooth, firm texture.
