Ingredients

  • 2 cups (280 g ) white wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup (120 g) powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (120 ml ) oil

Directions

Combine flour, egg, baking powder, powdered sugar, and vanilla to make a moist but not sticky dough .

Flatten teaspoon-sized balls of dough on the back of a fork (preferably with rounded tines) and roll off, forming small snail-shell-like curls.

Deep fry in hot oil (~350°F/180°C), six at a time, until golden brown.

Roll in more powdered sugar while still hot to coat.
