Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Eggs
Poached eggs set into soft whites while the yolks stay runny, forming the main body of the dish.
Cream cheese
Adds creamy richness and moisture that softens the pita and balances the salty fish.
Smoked salmon
Contributes salty, smoky flavour and fat as the central savoury element.
White vinegar
Acid helps the egg whites coagulate quickly into a compact shape while poaching.

The step that matters

Leave the eggs alone for 5–7 minutes. Egg white proteins set as they heat, but agitation or early movement can tear the delicate whites. Leaving them undisturbed lets the whites firm around the yolk so the eggs hold their shape when lifted out.
