Ingredients
- 4 ea . (400 g ) medium onions , chopped as fine as possible
- 1 small chilli
- 2 large cloves of garlic , chopped finely or crushed
- Ginger (about the same as the garlic in size), finely chopped
- 250 g split red lentils
- 3 tins, chopped tomatoes
- 1 stock cube
- Water as necessary
- 12 whole cardamom pods
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 12 grinds of the black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon mustard seed
- Fresh chilli to taste
