  1. Six ounces castor oil, two ounces cantharides, two ounces alcohol, one ounce bergamot.

  2. MATTING. Wash matting in salt and water to preserve it from turning dark.

  3. Sapolio is superior for cleansing marble stands and bureau tops. Dip an old tooth-brush in hot water, and with it make a lather of the sapolio (which can be purchased at any of the apothecaries). Eub hard and rinse in clean, cold water.
