What each ingredient does

Rich cream
Supplies fat that makes the frozen mixture rich and smooth.
Cream
Supplies fat that gives the frozen mixture a smooth, creamy texture.
Chocolate (in the method)
Colors the mixtures and adds a cocoa flavor.
Vanilla (in the method)
Adds a warm, aromatic flavor to one layer.
Rose (in the method)
Adds a floral aroma to one layer.
Lemon (in the method)
Adds a bright, acidic citrus flavor to one layer.

The step that matters

Freeze each mixture separately. Each flavor must be firm before layering, so the layers stay distinct instead of blending into one another when alternated in the mold.
