What each ingredient does

Eggs
Provide structure and richness, setting the batter into light cakes and thickening the cream.
Flour
Thickens the batter so it holds its shape, and thickens the mock cream.
Milk
Forms the liquid base of the mock cream, adding moisture and richness.
