Directions
Rub the mutton with a little butter, pepper, salt, and, if you choose, cloves and allspice ; put it in the dripping pan in the oven, basting it frequently, allow- ing quarter of an hour for each pound of mutton ; thicken the gravy with flour and water, season with spices and catsup, or with wine and currant jelly.
FRICATELLI.
Mrs. W. F. W. Chop raw fresh pork very fine, add a little salt, plenty of pepper, and two small onions chopped fine, half as much bread as meat, soaked until soft, two eggs ; mix well together, make into oblong patties, and fry like oysters. These are nice for breakfast ; if used for tea serve with sliced lemon.
