V2 pint milk. 1 tablespoon sugar.
y2 pint water. 1 cake yeast.
1 tablespoon Crisco. Flour.
1 teaspoon salt.
Dissolve the yeast in water. Put all together and add enough flour to form a batter that will fall from a spoon. Beat thoroughly, let rise about 1 hour, then add enough flour to make dough quite soft. Let rise 1 hour; form into loaves. Let rise again till light. Bake y^ hour in moderate oven. Do not knead. This makes 2 loaves.
