Directions
Make a stuffing of bread crumbs, seasoned with pepper and salt and butter, then mix with one dozen oysters, and prepare chicken as for roasting. Cook in steamer two hours or more ; strain the gravy from chicken after done into a saucepan, stir in two tablespoons but- ter, four spoons of oyster liquor (also strained), a tablespoon of flour mixed in three tablespoons of cream, and if you have it a tablespoon of chopped parsley ; bring to a boil, stir in a beaten egg, season to taste, and pour part over the chicken, rest in tureen.
