Ingredients

Directions

  1. Boil and chop the beef.

  2. Chop the suet, raisins, currants, and citron.

  3. Mix the chopped ingredients with sugar, lemon rind and juice, orange juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, mace, brandy, wine, and salt.

  4. Pack the mixture tightly in a jar and stir well before using.

  5. For the pie, combine nearly 2/3 apples with more than 1/3 meat.

  6. Add enough cider to make the filling very juicy and enough sugar to make it very sweet.
