Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Eggs
Set the custard as they cook, thickening the mixture into a cream.
Chocolate
Provides the main flavour and colour of the cream.
Milk
Forms the liquid body of the cream and gives it a soft, smooth texture.

The step that matters

Cook the mixture over low heat. Egg proteins set gently as the mixture warms. High heat can curdle the eggs, leaving the cream grainy instead of smooth and thickened.
