Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Condensed milk
Adds sweetness and a creamy, smooth body to the frozen base.
Cream
Adds fat and richness, giving the ice cream a smooth, tender texture.
Peaches
Provide the main fruit flavor and moisture in the finished ice cream.
Milk
Forms the liquid base that freezes into the body of the ice cream.

The step that matters

Freezing until partly frozen. Freezing the base only until partly set leaves it soft enough to fold in the mashed peaches and cream evenly. If it freezes solid first, the fruit and cream will not blend smoothly.

Swap the peach

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (milk, condensed milk, cream, sugar):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Coconutfits better
  3. Strawberryfits better
  4. Peachthe original

Fit is the average pairing score against milk, condensed milk, cream, sugar. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
