Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Peaches
Provide the main peach flavour, aroma and fruity body.
Cream or whole milk
Adds fat and richness, giving the ice cream a smooth, creamy texture.
Gelatine
Sets the mixture and helps keep the frozen ice cream smooth rather than icy.

The step that matters

Dissolve and cool the gelatine before combining. Gelatine must be fully dissolved and the mixture cooled before it is combined with the peaches. Gelatine sets as it cools, so if it is still hot or undissolved it can form strands or lumps instead of blending evenly into a smooth base.

Swap the peach

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (cream, sugar):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Strawberryfits better
  3. Raspberryfits better
  4. Peachthe original

Fit is the average pairing score against cream, sugar. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
