Hop and Hemlock Pillows

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Braid a simple pattern with white braid on one side of the nankeen pieces.

  2. Sew the pieces together and stuff them with fresh hops.

  3. Finish the pillow with white fringe.

  4. Make a tidy from plain soft linen, ravel the edges out 1 inch, and overcast with blue split zephyr.

  5. For the Hemlock Pillow, gather young fresh hemlock branches and strip them.

  6. Make a case from unbleached cotton, fill it with hemlock needles, and cover it with Java canvas, working a pretty woodland pattern.
